This trek offers a moderate level of difficulty, with the exception of the climb to the highest peak in the National Park. We begin and end the journey in Brașov, a charming and historically rich city. Each day, we hike between 5 to 8 hours, taking in the stunning landscapes of the Carpathian Mountains. Along the way, we’ll stop at an authentic sheep farm (from June to September), where you’ll experience firsthand the traditions of local shepherding and the beauty of rural life in the mountains.
As we trek, we’ll pass through several picturesque, traditional villages located at the base of the mountains, where time seems to stand still. These villages, such as Măgura and Peștera, offer a unique glimpse into the life of mountain communities, and we’ll have the opportunity to interact with locals, learning about their way of life and culture.
Depending on weather conditions and your preferences, we may ascend to the highest peak of the National Park (2238 meters), offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding valleys, forests, and distant mountain ranges. The climb to the summit is a challenging yet rewarding experience, giving you a sense of accomplishment and awe.
In addition to the mountain villages and the climb, the trek also includes crossing beautiful gorges, where you’ll be immersed in nature’s raw beauty. These gorges, with their towering rock formations and lush greenery, offer some of the most stunning and peaceful moments of the journey.
In summary, this is an authentic adventure, combining the beauty of nature, the charm of traditional mountain villages, and the thrill of conquering the highest peak in Piatra Craiului National Park. It’s an experience that will leave you with unforgettable memories of the Carpathian Mountains!
