DESCRIPTION & FEATURES OF THE TREKKING TOUR
Day 1. Arrival and Mountain Retreat in Magura Village
Arrive at Bucharest Airport and transfer to Magura Village, nestled in Piatra Craiului National Park. Enjoy a 3-night stay at a charming local guesthouse with breathtaking mountain views. End the day with a delicious homemade dinner.
Day 2. Exploring Piatra Craiului: A Scenic Walk to Curmatura Hut
Embark on a scenic walk to the rustic Curmatura Hut in Piatra Craiului National Park. After a refreshing drink and lunch, we’ll return to the guesthouse. (Duration: 7-8 hours, moderate difficulty, 400 m uphill / 600 m downhill). In the evening, enjoy a BBQ at the guesthouse.
Day 3. Summit Adventure: Climbing the Heights of Piatra Craiului’s Highest Peak
Today, we’ll tackle the highest peak in Piatra Craiului National Park (2,238 m), weather permitting and based on the group’s abilities. After reaching the summit, we’ll descend the other side, navigating some parts with chains, and make our way to Zarnesti. This route is for experienced hikers. (Duration: 8-9 hours, difficult, 1,200 m uphill / 1,200 m downhill). Dinner at the guesthouse.
Day 4. Dracula’s Castle and Scenic Views in the Bucegi Mountains
Visit the iconic Bran Castle, famously known as Dracula’s Castle. Afterward, enjoy a hike in the Bucegi Mountains, offering stunning views of Piatra Craiului. (Duration: 5-6 hours, moderate difficulty). Transfer to Brasov for a 4-night stay at a cozy 3-star guesthouse. Dinner included.
Day 5. Canyon Hike and Thrills at Parc Aventura Brasov
A short 20-minute transfer brings us to the “7 Ladders” Canyon in the Piatra Mare Massif. Hike through this beautiful canyon (Duration: 2-3 hours, easy to moderate effort). In the afternoon, experience the thrills of Parc Aventura Brasov, Eastern Europe's largest adventure park, just a short drive from the canyon.
Day 6. Biking Adventure and Bear Watching Experience
Enjoy a full-day biking tour through the area. (Duration: 5-6 hours, moderate difficulty). In the evening, take part in a bear-watching program (Duration: 4-5 hours). From June to August, there’s a 70-90% chance of spotting bears in their natural habitat.
Day 7. Discovering the Pearl of Transylvania: Sighisoara
Day trip to Sighisoara, the birthplace of Count Dracula. A UNESCO World Heritage site, Sighisoara is known as the "Pearl of Transylvania" and is renowned for its well-preserved medieval architecture. Explore its winding streets and historic towers, including Tailors' Tower and Shoemakers' Tower, built by Saxons between the 12th and 17th centuries.
Day 8. Departure: Farewell to Transylvania
Transfer to the airport for your departure.
